Welcome to this week's newsletter!
Hi Reader!
I am happy to report that I have been thoroughly enjoying the front porch! It has become one of my favorite spots at home. Both to sit in the morning with my cup of coffee and having my quiet time and just to stand in the door and gaze at how peaceful it is now.
If there’s a chill in the early morning air, I wrap a blanket over myself and man-oh-man, is that cozy!
Do you have a favorite cozy spot in your home? If you’re stumped for some ideas on how to achieve some coziness for these September days, here’s a list for you to try!
Cozy Up Your Space for September Days
Start Gently
The light shifts this time of year. It’s softer, less harsh than summer.
Pull your chair closer to the window. Swap a heavy curtain for something sheer so you can catch every bit of it.
Bring in Texture
A knit throw tossed on the sofa. Linen pillow covers instead of bright summer cotton.
Little swaps make a big difference.
Slowly Introduce Warmth
Add some soft lighting and lighter scents. Think flameless candles. Diffuse some essential oils like cedarwood and orange. Warmth without jumping ahead to October.
Add Layers to Your Table
A woven placemat under your coffee mug. A small tray to hold your book and candle.
Layering makes everything feel intentional, even when it’s simple.
Incorporate Plants
Plants are still in season. Cut branches from outside. A vase of hydrangeas that are fading into blush and green. They last a long time and look perfectly “September.”
Don’t Forget Sound
Build a playlist that feels like early fall—acoustic, soft jazz, piano. Background music changes the whole mood of your home.
Take Your Time
It doesn’t have to be a full overhaul.
One corner. One candle. One throw.
Cozy starts small and builds from there.
